•⁠ ⁠After submitting the form, you will receive an email that must be confirmed in order to complete the membership process.

•⁠ Membership is completed by paying a voluntary membership fee: each member can choose how much to contribute, according to their own level of participation and support. Payment is made by bank transfer using the IBAN provided in the confirmation message, with the reference: “2026 membership fee”.

Sustainability: an ancient balance

In Pantelleria, sustainability is not a recent theory, but a thousand-year-old practice.

The island’s landscape — made up of dammusi, terraces and crops adapted to the wind and water scarcity — represents one of the most accomplished Mediterranean examples of balance between human presence and the natural environment.

The dammuso was born as a bioclimatic architecture: thick lava stone walls, white roofs capable of collecting rainwater, orientations designed to protect from wind and sun. Each element responds to an environmental need even before an aesthetic one.

Similarly, terraces shape more than 20% of the island’s territory, retaining soil, preserving moisture and creating agricultural microclimates that make life possible in a complex and fragile environment.

Sustainability, in Pantelleria, therefore coincides with continuity: continuing to preserve, inhabit and maintain a landscape built over the centuries.

For this reason, The Dammuso Circle Association promotes an integrated vision of sustainability that combines environmental protection, cultural enhancement, social responsibility and balanced economic development.

Protecting the landscape does not mean stopping it, but allowing it to continue to live.
